On June 25th, 1953, our 'new' Queen came calling.
With the Crown fresh on her head, Elizabeth and her Prince Consort, Philip, headed north, as part of their UK Coronation tour - and Glasgow didn't disappoint; the sun shone, and the city was draped in flags and bunting.
The office and commercial staff of The Herald and Evening Times certainly turned out in force, as the royal visitors passed down Buchanan Street.
